Summit Instruments Windows based Instrument Configuration Utility makes it easy to configure and use Smart Sensors and 65210 Series Systems in large and small enterprises. Configuration of sensor ranges and filters, installation, monitoring and optional calibration of sensors are easily accomplished using function specific ICU modes. Graphs and values are displayed in user specified units.

ICU's real-time monitoring and built-in data acquisition to spreadsheet compatible files make it easy to spot problems and analyze captured data. The data acquisition rate is limited by the performance of the computer running ICU. Faster computers can process continuous data at 115K BAUD and above. CRC-16 error checking is used when communicating with instruments to ensure setting and data integrity.

ICU provides configuration, calibration, and telemetry (with TMATS encoding) reports for application documentation.

• Configuration Confirmation and Sensor Monitoring
  Sensor configuration and output can be viewed for easy verification. Modifications are password protected to prevent unauthorized changes.
  
• User Specified Engineering Units Reduce Errors
  ICU can be configured to display sensor outputs in the units required by the application. In addition to the built-in SI unit conversions, users can add unit conversion definitions to ICU.
  
• Real-time Strip Chart
  The real-time strip chart can simultaneously display all channels or a user-selected channel. Channels are color coded for easy identification.
  
• Built-in Data Acquisition
  In addition to being able to save measured data to a file, ICU provides high-speed acquisition to capture streamed data to a file. During high speed acquisition, subsampled data can be monitored on the strip chart. Acquired data is automatically converted to engineering units and saved in a spreadsheet compatible file.
  
• Enterprise Security
  ICU password protected modes provide controlled access to Summit Instruments Smart Sensors. Designers can create sensor configurations off-line which can later be loaded into a sensor.
  
• Simplified Access when Enterprise Security is not required
  A password protected mode providing access to all sensor settings simplifies use when enterprise features are not required.
  
• Customer Calibration Support
  ICU Calibration Mode assists users with calibration laboratories who wish to maintain their own calibrations instead of using Summit Instruments NIST traceable calibration. In addition to manual calibrations, users can write ICU calibration scripts to help automate their process.
  
• Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP Compatibility
  Windows compatibility allows use on most PCs.
